WelcomeThe Federation of Stadium Communities (FSC) is a national charity, established in 1991. It is based in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. It has received funding from the Home Office civil Renewal Unit. Funding for individual projects includes the Community Fund, Coalfield Regeneration Trust, Football Foundation and Public Health Dept NW. It seeks ways of improveing the quality of life in stadium neighbourhoods, both by the resoultion of stadium related issues and problems and by exploring ways in which sports clubs and community groups can work together to bring mutual benefits to the local area. A sports stadium can offer much more than just sports activities. They often have resources and facilities for example; meeting rooms, a community hall, office and retail space, after school study groups, IT suites, restaurants and fitness centres, which can address local needs and support health, well-being, education and employment initiatives. The FSC provides information and advice to those in stadium neighbourhoods, highlights and shares examples of good practice and helps to develop projects, partnerships and innovative ways of achieving mutual benefits. We hope that this website will provide you with useful information and ideas to share and give you opportunity to contact and work with us. |
